About the event
Join us at Winyah Auditorium for Here Today, Gone Tomorrow, a 75-minute reader’s theatre presentation featuring Ron Daise in honor of the 250th-year celebration of America’s freedom.
This powerful and moving presentation shares the story of the Hamburg Massacre, a relatively unknown piece of South Carolina history. Through performance and reflection, the production invites audiences to consider the meaning of freedom, the weight of history, and how fragile freedom can be when justice and humanity are challenged.
The event will take place on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Winyah Auditorium, 1200 Highmarket Street, Georgetown, SC 29440.
Admission is free, and guests are encouraged to reserve their seats in advance. Optional donations in honor of America’s 250th year may be made in the amounts of $2.50, $25, or $250. Donations will benefit the Georgetown Middle Passage Port Marker Project.
